Ever wonder what you are really getting when you decide to trade or buy links? You really have to break it down using the formula of Google or at least one that models a scale system which the patented pagerank system. You may find that this takes a while, but if it where quick, the accuracy would seriously drop.

Assuming that the PR of your current site and the linking site has no other influences that degrade nor increases its current PR value, the amount of PR passed will remain unchanged. With this tool you can more effectively evaluate how much a link is worth. The only real unknown that comes into play is the Dampening Factor.

The dampening factor we can assume is to be a .85 . If I were to guesstimate what would alter the dampening factor, I would say the amount of spamminess a site has, how competitive the industry, how many sites on the same IP, and how near the C-Blocks are bettween linking sites.
